Chris Ellison

Managing Director

Chris is the founding shareholder of each of the three mining service subsidiaries that comprises Mineral Resources Limited (Crushing Services International Pty Ltd, Process Minerals International Pty Ltd and PIHA Pty Ltd).

In 1979, Chris founded Karratha Rigging and was Managing Director until its acquisition by Walter Wright Industries in 1982. He was subsequently appointed as the General Manager of Walter Wright Industries for the Western Australia and Northern Territory regions.

In 1986 he founded Genco Ltd and following two years of considerable growth, Genco Ltd merged with the Monadelphous Group in 1988.

In September 1988 Receivers and Managers were appointed to the Monadelphous Group. At this time, Chris was appointed the Managing Director and under his careful management, the group successfully traded out of its financial difficulties and eventually relisted on the ASX in late 1989.

In 1992 Chris founded PIHA Pty Ltd, a company focussed on the provision of specialised pipe lining and general infrastructure to the resources sector. Over the next three years through his work with PIHA Pty Ltd, he identified a real opportunity within the mining industry to satisfy the need for specialised contract crushing services, leading to the founding of Crushing Services International Pty Ltd. Subsequently, Chris and his business partners within PIHA and Crushing Services International founded the mineral processing arm of Mineral Resources Limited, Process Minerals International Pty Ltd.

Mark Wilson

Chief Financial Officer

Mark joined MRL as Chief Financial Officer in August 2018. Mark is an experienced senior executive with a strong track record in development and implementation of business strategy, balance sheet management, organisational design, project management, and transaction execution.

Prior to joining MRL, Mark has held senior positions in a number of Australian and international companies including Laing O’Rourke, Multiplex and Brookfield Multiplex, where he led Multiplex’s listing on the ASX.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales and has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia (FINSIA).

Bob Gavranich

Executive General Manager, PIHA and General Manager, Mineral Services

Bob is the founding shareholder and General Manager of PIHA, the pipeline and infrastructure subsidiary of MRL. He has extensive experience in design and manufacture of polyethylene pipeline fittings and general pipeline and pipelining construction works.

Bob was the Project Director for PIHA on the Murraylink Project for which PIHA was awarded the Case Environmental Engineering Award and The Institution of Engineers Australia Engineering Excellence Award in both the Environment Category and the Project Infrastructure Category.

In 2014, Bob expanded PIHA's product offering to include Vent Master (TM) valves and Steelpile, which are fabricated in house, fit for purpose.

David Geraghty

Executive General Manager, Process Minerals International

David is the Executive General Manager of Process Minerals International, the minerals processing subsidiary of Mineral Resources. He is a qualified metallurgical engineer and has substantial experience in research, development and operation of a variety of mineral processing plants specifically in the manganese, chromite and iron ore industries.

David was employed by BHP Limited and Hamersley Iron Pty Ltd in a variety of engineering and metallurgical roles associated with mineral processing and beneficiation and was part of the Process Minerals International team that developed the manganese fines processing technology currently utilised by the business.

He was a driver of the development engineering that led to the  manufacture and deployment of the company's 1,000 tonne per hour mobile crushing and screening plants.

Danny McCarthy

Chief Operating Officer

Danny is an experienced mining professional with 20 years of relevant experience in senior executive, general, operational and project management roles.

He has previously worked as Group General Manager Mining Operations at QCoal Pty Ltd and as General Manager Mining with Thiess.

He is highly experienced in mine operations, cost control, customer focus and delivery with a demonstrated background in strategy development and execution, mine management, maintenance management, handling and processing.

Darren Killeen

Executive General Manager, Crushing Services International - Construction

Darren has 25  years' experience, both locally and overseas, in engineering, manufacturing, project management and infrastructure development. He has worked internationally with Lamprell Energy in the Middle East and held senior roles within United Group Limited - Resources and John Holland Group.

Darren commenced with MRL in 2009 as Manager of Projects at CSI.  He  progressed to General Manager  Infrastructure and Development and is currently Executive General Manager – CSI Construction.

Darren has been instrumental in the construction, development and execution of MRL’s  business operating sites and cementing MRL’s reputation for delivering projects on time and on budget.

He brings outside experience into the business whilst maintaining the long term traditions that make MRL’s CSI business what it is today.

His key area of responsibility as Executive General Manager – CSI Construction is to develop the existing skillset and long term internal and external Engineer, Procure and Construct capability.

Further to this focus, he also oversees the Group’s Innovation Centre opportunities such as the Bulk Ore Transportation System.   

In addition, Darren ensures safety, cost and time are executable, manageable and achievable.

Gary Gray AO

General Manager, External Affairs

Gary has enjoyed a distinguished career at executive level in Woodside Petroleum,and in Government.
A former National Secretary of the ALP, from 2007 to 2016, he was the Federal Member for Brand in Western Australia before retiring at the last election.
He held senior positions in the Australian Government as the Minister for Resources and Energy, Minister for Tourism, Minister for Small Business, Special Minister of State and the Minister for the Public Service and Integrity.

Steve Wyatt

Project Director

Steve is the founding shareholder  of  Crushing Services International Pty Ltd, the contract crushing and material handling subsidiary of Mineral Resources Ltd. 

He has over 20 years’ experience in the mining contracting and resource processing industries with a wealth of experience in concept, design and project delivery. Steve has had the vison and skills to formulate many projects and successfully bring them to fruition.

With MRL, Steve continues to develop innovative, cost saving solutions for clients through investing in research and development via commercial and collaborative relationships with select companies, universities and institutions.
Steve has designed and constructed each of the major contract crushing and mineral processing plant operations for CSl and has undertaken substantial research and development engineering that led to the development and manufacture of the company's 1,000 tonne per hour mobile crushing and screening plants.
