We were delighted to host three Gilmore College students at our Kwinana Workshop recently, as part of the Kwinana Industries Council (KIC)’s Metals & Engineering school-based traineeship program.
This program is aimed at Year 11 and 12 students, and helps to provide them with the tools needed to graduate with a Certificate II in Engineering. It has been hugely successful and boasts a 98% success rate for students finding apprenticeship employment at the completion of their studies.
The students recently completed the first of their five-week placements, rotating through core areas and trades in our workshop. This helped to provide a greater insight into the different career options that are available to them.
Our participation in the program provides our business with the opportunity to employee skilled apprentices and develop our future talent pipeline. During the 2018 traineeship program, we hosted five students and two of them came on board as apprentices in our last intake.
We look forward to continuing our support of this program.
