Investing in the future at Gilmore College

We are long-term, proud sponsors of the Kwinana Industries Council’s (KIC) Metals and Engineering School Based Traineeship at Gilmore College.

Students of the traineeship are enrolled full time at Gilmore College, receive training one day per week at Challenger Institute of Technology and spend blocks of time in work placements.

At the end of year 12, the trainees will complete their WACE and Traineeship Certificate II in Engineering and be ‘work-ready’. Completing this traineeship reduces the time needed to complete an apprenticeship in an associated industry.

To help support the students in their learning and development, we donated a toolbox to each of the Year 11 students commencing their two-year traineeship.

General Manager of Kwinana Facilities, Darren Hardy, and Learning and Development Advisor, Emily Pettitt, presented the students with their toolboxes to the new trainees at their recent ceremony.

We look forward to supporting the continued success of this program.
