Acknowledging our local Newman police force

The Bloody Slow Cup is an annual event held in Newman to commemorate the lives of four Western Australian Police Officers who were tragically killed in a plane crash whilst responding to a call for assistance in January 2001.

The event, organised by the Newman Police Station, commences on with a memorial ceremony in tribute to the fallen officers, to ensure that time will never erase the memory of their commitment to safeguarding the peace of the community.

Memorial for the four police officers who died in a plane crash near Newman, in 2001.

It is then followed by a series of sporting matches throughout the weekend, in recognition of the important role it plays in bringing the local community together and comprises a range of sports including cricket, netball, rugby, soccer and golf.

This year, we were proud to, once again, supply the Bloody Slow Cup shirts for the golf tournament on Friday 25 October.

The event was a great success, with the event raising more than $10,000 dollars for the WA Police Legacy in support of the local policing community in Newman and the family members of the four officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

We appreciate this opportunity to demonstrate our gratitude and respect for the service provided by our WA Police within the local communities in which we operate.
