Lithium

A collective shift towards decarbonisation and net zero targets is driving increasing demand for electric vehicles and energy storage solutions powered by lithium-ion batteries.

MinRes identified lithium as a target commodity more than a decade ago and has since built a portfolio of world-class assets that set to deliver long-term value for the company and its shareholders.

Today, MinRes is a globally significant lithium producer with ownership in three hard rock mines and strategic partnerships with international leaders in the production and supply of lithium battery products.

Mt Marion

The Mt Marion lithium operation is located 40km southwest of Kalgoorlie in the Goldfields region of Western Australia.

The operation is jointly owned by MinRes (50%) and one of the world’s largest lithium hydroxide producers, Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium Co. Ltd. (50%).

MinRes manages all mining operations at Mt Marion, including a spodumene concentrate processing plant with an upgraded production capacity of 600,000 tonnes of 6% spodumene product.

Spodumene produced at Mt Marion is transported by road to the Port of Esperance for export to global markets.

Wodgina

The Wodgina lithium operation is located approximately 120km south of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

As one of the world’s largest known hard rock lithium deposits, this asset forms part of an unincorporated joint venture between MinRes (50%) and leading battery chemicals producer Albemarle Corporation (50%).

MinRes manages all mining operations at Wodgina, including a spodumene concentrate processing plant featuring three trains each with a capacity of 250,000 tonnes of 6% spodumene product.

Spodumene produced at Wodgina is transported by road to Port Hedland for export to global markets.

Bald Hill

The Bald Hill lithium mine is located approximately 50km south east of Kambalda in the Goldfields region of Western Australia.

The mine was acquired by MinRes in November 2023 and accelerates our strategy to expand production with secure supply of responsibly and ethically sourced lithium.

Bald Hill is around 80km southeast of the Mt Marion lithium mine, providing scope to leverage resources and infrastructure within one of the world’s most prospective lithium regions.

The site operates a spodumene concentrate processing plant with an annual production capacity of around 150,000 tonnes (SC6 equivalent).

Spodumene produced at Bald Hill is transported by road to Port of Esperance for export to global markets.
