We are excited to share with you the completion of Mineral Resources House, a respite facility and crisis care house in Kalgoorlie. As a part of our Christmas giving initiative, we donated $50,000 to the Goldfields Individual and Family Support Association (GIFSA) to undertake much needed renovations and complete maintenance on the existing community facility.
We are blown away by the result of our contribution, not only did our donation allow for a new roof and ease of access for wheelchair clients, but the house itself has been completely transformed into a home that will assist families in need of emergency accommodation.
GIFSA’s Chairman, Graham Thomson, is truly grateful for the support of Mineral Resources, describing our decision to forego our normal Christmas celebration to assist community groups as “ground breaking”. GIFSA works to ensure that people with a disability, their families and carers have access to quality services that meet each individual’s needs. MRL will attend an opening ceremony for the new-look respite facility and crisis care house in June.
