An evening of inspiration, connection and celebration

We recently welcomed over 100 guests to our corporate headquarters for our first Inspire event, an evening of inspiration, connection and celebration of female leadership.

Inspiration

The guest list included MinRes employees, executives, Board members and selected guests including female talent that would provide a good fit with our culture. The event offered inspiration by sharing stories of female leadership, showcasing our world-class headquarters and highlighting our focus on improving the representation of women in our workforce.

Kicking off the evening was a moving performance by Paul Boon, Clifton Bieundurry and Olive Knight, with a special Welcome to Country by Professor Colleen Hayward and a warm welcome from MinRes founder and Managing Director Chris Ellison. Then former Australian Foreign Minister and MinRes Strategic Advisor, Julie Bishop took the stage to captivate the audience with stories from her successful careers in both law and politics.

Connection

Connection was encouraged throughout the evening, with guests asked to strike up a conversation with someone they haven’t met during the event break to discuss their career journey and aspirations.

A panel discussion featuring an incredible line-up of female speakers, facilitated by General Manager – People, Andrea Chapman, who delved into career highlights, lessons, advice and sources of inspiration from the group of accomplished women, uncovering an abundance of actionable insights.

Thank you to Julie Bishop, MinRes Non-Executive Director, Susie Corlett, MinRes Chief People & Shared Services Officer, Bronwyn Grieve and MinRes Executive General Manager – Energy, Shelley Robertson, for sharing your experiences so openly.

“Define who you are based on what you love”, “be the CEO of your career” and “be authentic and true to you” were just some of the many takeaways from the night.

Celebration

The evening was held to celebrate women in our industry, including those participating in our MinRes Inspire Program, a new six-month program developed in collaboration with Julie Bishop.

The program brings together frontline leaders from across our operations, supporting them to develop their pillars of success, personal brand, relationships and performance, with sessions facilitated by Claire Seeber from Eating Your Cake Too.

Our transformational growth over the next five years and beyond presents unique opportunities for increasing the diversity of our workforce. We look forward to continuing to grow our successful Inspire program and develop opportunities to increase female participation and leadership within our business. The future is bright!
