Our Process Minerals International business (PMI), manages the mine-to-port logistics for all our owned and/or operated mine sites including Wodgina, Mt Marion, Iron Valley, and the Yilgarn, including:
- Rail haulage
- Road haulage
- Port management
- Remote aerodrome management
We operate one of the largest and most diverse mobile equipment fleets in the Southern Hemisphere, exporting to the world via 225 road trains, 387 rail wagons, 6 locomotives and 2 port alliances.
Every year, this fleet of trucks hauls our product a distance of approximately 64 million kilometres to Western Australian ports – that’s equivalent to travelling sixteen hundred times around the equator.
Our road train haulage fleet utilises the latest technology and industry-leading innovations to ensure safety and efficiency, including live satellite tracking to monitor speed and fatigue, on-board cameras, professional driver inductions, and haulage assistance vehicles.
Our innovative solutions for rolling stock design and manufacture, delivery and commissioning, rail operations and rolling stock maintenance enabled us to lower costs and increase our efficiency in the transporting of our ore. We currently own our own rail fleet comprising of 387 rail wagons and 6 locomotives, which transports our Yilgarn iron ore to Esperance Ports for export to the global market.
