Diversity and inclusion
Maintaining working environments that value diversity of thought and experience where each person’s unique differences are recognised and values.

Our commitment
At MinRes, we are committed to creating a fair, diverse, inclusive and non-discriminatory workplace where every individual’s unique background and perspective is respected and valued. Guided by our values of care and unity, we strive to create an environment that embraces and celebrates differences.
We are committed to reconciliation and this is underpinned by education, mutual respect and positive action and captured in our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan.

Our approach
At MinRes, we understand the potential for an inclusive and diverse workforce to lead improved organisational performance.
To help achieve this, we:
- raise awareness and set diversity targets for our workforce
- focus on building a pipeline of female and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent
- conduct annual safety audits to understand the workplace experiences of female and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees
- continue our Safe and Respectful Behaviours campaign.
Our gender equality strategy outlines our intent, priorities and objectives for creating a workplace that supports diversity at all levels – with a focus on the following key areas:
- creating internal and external networking and mentoring opportunities
- measuring gender diversity performance at all levels of the employee lifecycle
- implementing a gender pay-gap analysis as an embedded process
- identifying and developing female talent.
The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) promotes gender equality in employment and workplaces and publishes gender pay gaps for private sector employers with 100 or more employees. You can read our MinRes Employer Statement for more information on our approach to creating a balanced workplace.
WORK180 is a global network encouraging more informed employment decisions and highlighting companies with policies, benefits and initiatives that promote and support careers for female employees. Organisations endorsed by WORK180 must demonstrate a genuine commitment to improving diversity and meet specific criteria relating to workplace policies, benefits and initiatives encouraging and supporting women to build successful careers. MinRes has been recognised for our commitment to gender equity when we were named an endorsed employer of women by WORK180.
Additionally, we are steadfast in our commitment to providing a safe workplace for employees who may be experiencing family and domestic violence. We annually review and update our Family and Domestic Violence Procedure and provisions to ensure comprehensive support is available to our employees facing such challenges.
We are dedicated to providing a range of career pathways and employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People throughout our business.
Our Aboriginal Employment Policy was developed to strategically address key aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment, with our primary objective being to build a workplace that understand, supports and champions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees. We aim to achieve this by:
- recognising the contribution of Aboriginal knowledge and capability to all levels of the workplace and are committed to responding to the needs of Aboriginal People in our workplace
- creating culturally inclusive and safe work environments, providing Aboriginal People with meaningful employment opportunities and mentoring support to ensure positive long-term career outcomes
- advancing the professional development of Aboriginal employees
- increase the representation of Aboriginal People in our workforce, reducing structural, process and cultural barriers to employment
- contributing to the elimination of discrimination and harassment based on race.
Our Aboriginal employment and recruitment specialists work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates, Traditional Owner groups, community partners and the broader Aboriginal community to provide tailored support. Through our Aboriginal Employee Network, we provide mentoring, guidance and peer support to address unique challenges in the mining industry, supporting retention and wellbeing.
