Pilbara Hub
The Pilbara Hub includes the Iron Valley, Wonmunna and Lamb Creek mine sites in the Pilbara region. Product is transported by road to Port Hedland for export through Utah Point.
Iron Valley
Iron Valley is located 75km north west of Newman on the Traditional Owner land of the Nyiyaparli People.
MinRes has operated the mine since 2014, making it our oldest producing iron ore mine.
Iron Valley is an open cut iron ore mine and MinRes manages all aspects of the mine and associated infrastructure, including workshops, offices, diesel power generation and bore fields.
Iron Valley has a mine life of approximately five years and is supported by the 196-room Phil’s Creek village.
Mining and processing
Production has been by open pit methods using the conventional drill, blast, load and haul mining sequence.
Mined ore is crushed and waste is stored on waste rock dumps.
The Iron Valley crushing plant features a primary jaw crusher, secondary cone crusher and three screens, and is operated by CSI Mining Services, a subsidiary of MinRes.
Commissioned in 2014, the plant was upgraded in 2016 and a third screen added.
The plant produces a fines and lump product, which is stored and loaded into road trains to be transported to the Port of Port Hedland and blended with product from Lamb Creek.
Lamb Creek
Lamb Creek is located 120km north west of Newman on the Traditional Owner land of the Banjima People.
MinRes commenced construction in December 2025 and first ore on ship was achieved three months later.
Lamb Creek is an open cut iron ore mine and MinRes manages all aspects of the mine and associated infrastructure, including workshops, offices, diesel power generation and bore fields.
Lamb Creek has a mine life of approximately five years and is supported by the 200-room on-site village.

The Lamb Creek crushing plant was commissioned in 2026 and is operated by CSI Mining Services, a subsidiary of MinRes.
The plant produces a fines and lump product, which is stored and loaded into road trains to be transported via a 16km private haul road to the Great Northern Highway then to the Port of Port Hedland and blended with product from Iron Valley.
Wonmunna
Wonmunna is located 80km north west of Newman on the Traditional Owner land of the Banjima People.
The mine was purchased from the Australian Aboriginal Mining Corporate in FY21 as an undeveloped project, with first ore achieved just five months after construction began.
Operations are currently ceased at Wonmunna.
