Our commitment

We are committed to delivering positive benefits to the Western Australian community through our social investment program. We define social investment as the voluntary contribution of financial and in-kind support to organisations and projects that deliver benefits to the communities where we operate.

Our approach

Our social investment framework is built on three key pillars aimed at ensuring our support contributes to meaningful outcomes:

  • Health and wellbeing
  • Strengthening local communities
  • Economic empowerment.

These focus areas come to life through the work of our valued partners and we extend our heartfelt thanks to these organisations for their efforts and commitment, which is creating long-lasting impact across Western Australia (WA).

Health and wellbeing

We partner with organisations that are improving health outcomes, raising awareness of mental wellbeing and providing accessible support services.

Ear Science Institute

Since 2022, MinRes’ partnership with Ear Science has helped bridge the gap for patients in the Pilbara requiring access to ear and hearing health care by supporting the Healthy Hearing Outback program with a dedicated Ear Health Coordinator.

The on-the-ground role works closely with local Aboriginal medical services and the community to deliver ear health care in remote Aboriginal communities by combining telehealth with logistical, in-person support, ensuring patients get the care they need.

Co-funded by MinRes, Foodbank WA’s nom! School program provides hands-on nutrition education and cooking classes to help build students’ knowledge, confidence and skills to support healthy eating.

Delivered across WA, schools are eligible to participate in this program if they receive support through Foodbank WA’s School Breakfast Program, indicating higher levels of disadvantage among the school’s cohort of students, and a greater need for support around healthy eating.

MinRes is the naming rights sponsor of the Perkins Plunge, a 12-hour overnight team relay swim event raising vital funds to help combat cardiovascular disease, rare genetic diseases and cancer.

As a long-time supporter of the Perkins, MinRes has contributed more than $2 million to help local researchers tackle some of the world’s greatest health challenges.

Our commitment goes beyond our corporate sponsorship with our employees also dedicating their time and energy to the Perkins. Since 2019, a passionate team has taken part in the MACA Cancer 200 Ride for the Perkins each year, fundraising more than $3.2 million to-date.

Since 2020, MinRes has proudly partnered with Lifeline WA to support the mental health of all Western Australians.

Building on this longstanding commitment in 2023, we renewed our partnership with a focus on providing funding to train 300 volunteer Digital Crisis Supporters over three years.

With demand for online and text-based support services continuing to rise, our support helps ensure Lifeline WA can reach more people in need, anytime and anywhere.

Since 2015, MinRes has employed two chefs who cook dinner for families with an ill or injured child requiring medical treatment in Perth.

Strengthening local communities

Through our partners, we support programs and initiatives that help create vibrant and resilient communities.

Dandelions WA

Each year, Dandelions WA distribute backpacks to children across WA through its Back-to-School campaign. The backpacks are filled with the essentials students need to start the school year, giving them an equal opportunity to learn.

MinRes has supported Dandelions WA since 2023, contributing to the cost of renting their Malaga facility, dubbed the “Kindness Kubby”. Our support is at the heart of what keeps them going – giving them a home from which they can continue their important work.

Esperance Care Services has been supporting communities in and around Esperance for nearly 30 years, delivering a range of support including emergency relief, counselling and individual advocacy sessions to help people connect to government support and services.

A key part of the centre is the Karlup Service, which provides healing and recovery support to women and children rebuilding their lives. As part of this, MinRes funds five Koorta Guides – meaning “trusted one” in Noongar language. These guides walk alongside victim-survivors and help them access a range of services, without the need to repeatedly share their story.

Since 2021, MinRes has supported the Swan Districts Football Club’s Swans Onslow program to deliver a range of support for young people including Friday night football, an afternoon club and the running of the Swans Youth Shed.
