Focus on delivery at 2023 Annual General Meeting

Published on 17 November 2023

Mineral Resources Managing Director Chris Ellison on Thursday presented a business and growth strategy update at the 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Mineral Resources Park in Perth.

Dr Richard Walley performed a Welcome to Country before MinRes Non-Executive Chair James McClements commenced formal AGM proceedings.

This included the announcement of several leadership appointments:

  1. Denise McComish joins the MinRes board from 1 December 2023 as an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.
  2. Darren Killeen has been promoted to Chief Executive of Engineering and Construction, MinRes’ newly created fifth business pillar.
  3. General Manager Corporate Legal Jenna Mazza has been promoted to the role of Company Secretary from January 2024.

Mr Ellison told shareholders MinRes was focused on delivery – namely construction of the landmark Onslow Iron project, ramping up three lithium operations and onshore gas production.

“This year is all about delivery,” Mr Ellison said.

“We’ll have three lithium mines that we’re ramping up now through to the middle of next year and first ore on ship from Onslow Iron about June next year.

“Mining services is a great story – it just gets stronger and the relationships get better with our customers – and we’ll be delivering gas by 2025.”

He also emphasised a focus on workforce wellbeing at the company’s Osborne Park headquarters and at remote sites across Western Australia.

This includes the construction of two accommodation resorts as part of the Onslow Iron project, with first pods recently occupied at the Ken’s Bore site.
