MinRes endorsed as WORK180 employer

Mineral Resources’ (MinRes) commitment to gender equity has been strengthened through recognition as an endorsed employer of women by WORK180.

WORK180 is a global network encouraging more informed employment decisions and highlighting companies with policies, benefits and initiatives that support women’s careers.

Organisations endorsed by WORK180 must demonstrate a genuine commitment to improving diversity and meet specific criteria relating to workplace policies, benefits, and initiatives encouraging and supporting women to build successful careers.

Executive General Manager People Andrea Chapman said MinRes’ endorsement was testament to the company’s ongoing efforts to build a diverse workplace and culture.

“We’re delighted to be recognised by WORK180 as an endorsed employer of women, which reaffirms our commitment to building inclusive environments where our people can be their best and perform at their best,” Andrea said.

“MinRes continues to make strong progress towards gender equity and remains committed to fostering diversity at all levels – regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, religious beliefs or life experiences.”

Having grown female participation by 10% year-on-year in FY23, MinRes offers an expanding suite of policies, programs and facilities aimed at encouraging women to build rewarding careers and supporting the company’s success.

At MinRes’ state-of-the-art head office in Perth, a dedicated creche provides short-term care for children while parents work, attend meetings or visit the gym, while an improved parental leave policy offers 18 weeks paid leave for primary carers.

A focus on workplace wellbeing is also being applied to MinRes’ remote sites – including resort-style accommodation encouraging couples and expanded on-site physical and mental health services – all aimed at setting new standards for the resources sector.

In 2023, a gender pay audit confirmed MinRes has no gender pay gaps for comparable positions, while a growing suite of training and development programs is encouraging more women to join the business.

This includes the popular Inspire emerging leadership program, mentoring circles for female managers, GMs and EGMs, and targeted trainee and graduate programs such as the Trainee Dump Truck Operator Program which boasts a 61% female participation rate.

The company’s Gender Equity Strategy also provides a comprehensive framework for gender equity, with objectives including increased female representation, reduced structural and cultural barriers to diversity and inclusion, and eliminating discrimination and harassment.
