Supporting the local community with Esperance Care Services

Published on 14 May 2024

Mineral Resources (MinRes) is proud to announce a three-year partnership with Esperance Care Services (ECS), helping to ensure the ongoing delivery of crisis care services in the region.

ECS has been supporting communities in and around Esperance for nearly 30 years, delivering a range of support services including emergency relief, counselling and advocacy, education and training, and respite programs.

The organisation also operates a popular thrift shop and boutique, selling quality second-hand goods including clothing and accessories, furniture, household items, electrical goods and books.

ECS is supported by a team of passionate and community-minded volunteers donating their time to help make a difference for local community members experiencing hardship.

MinRes’ contribution of $90,000 over the next three years will provide critical funding to ensure ECS continues to make a positive impact in local communities.

Chief Executive Officer Chris Meyer said the MinRes partnerships and others like it are the lifeblood of the service provider.

“Ongoing operational funding is crucial to our organisation’s viability and often the hardest to secure,” Chris said.

“We are very grateful to MinRes for their generous support.”

MinRes Manager Stakeholder Engagement Daniel Barker said the company is proud to support ECS to deliver vital services to the Esperance community.

“The breadth of support ECS provides and its dedication to ensuring these services remain available is commendable,” Daniel said.

MinRes is proud to have a long-term presence in Esperance, with product from its iron ore lithium operations in the Yilgarn region transported through the Port of Esperance for export to global markets.
