Malcolm Bundey commences as Board Chair

Mineral Resources (MinRes) has announced that effective 1 July 2025, Malcolm Bundey will assume the role of Non-Executive Chair of the MinRes Board following the retirement of James McClements on 30 June 2025.

Published on 30 June 2025

Bundey’s appointment to the Board as Non-Executive Director was part of a planned transition to the Chair role, as announced on 19 May 2025.

McClements joined the MinRes Board in May 2015, was appointed Board Chair in March 2022 and has been a member of several Board Committees for a decade.

Reflecting on his tenure, McClements said it has been a privilege to serve MinRes for the past 10 years.

“While we have marked moments of significant growth and success, we have also faced periods that have tested us,” he said.

"I would like to thank my Board colleagues, the executive team and everyone across MinRes for their commitment and resilience. The progress we have made together has only been possible due to the dedication of the entire team.

“I wish Mal every success as incoming Chair and I am confident under his leadership MinRes is well positioned to consolidate and deliver on its strong future.”

MinRes Managing Director Chris Ellison said McClements helped guide the company through a transformative decade marked by growth and, more recently, real challenges.

“During this period, MinRes has expanded our mining services business, consolidated our position in lithium and developed Onslow Iron as a low-cost, long-life project which underpins our future growth,” Chris said.

“On behalf of our team, I thank him for his service, guidance and dedication.”

Bundey said he is honoured to be entrusted as Chair of MinRes at this pivotal time.

“I am committed to ensuring we have the right structures, processes and people in place to leverage our clear strengths and deliver sustained success as a leading mining services and resources business," he said.

"I am acutely aware of the responsibility to our shareholders, stakeholders and the entire MinRes team as I assume this role.

“I would like to thank James for ensuring a smooth transition, acknowledge his contribution over 10 years and look forward to building on the platform he has helped establish.”
