MinRes Air is now flying from Perth to Kalgoorlie and Wodgina as part of an expanded service offering, transporting employees and contractors to the company's Mt Marion and Wodgina operations.

Operating from a dedicated MinRes Air Terminal at Perth Airport, this in-house service enables a smooth and timely transition from arrival to boarding and includes complimentary coffee and breakfast to ease the early starts.

Once on board, comfort is a priority with the each seat boasting up to 25cm more legroom compared to standard aircraft, helping make the commute more relaxing for the FIFO workforce.

MinRes Air Chief Executive Officer Graeme Taylor said the new services were another important step forward in transforming the FIFO experience for employees.

“From a dedicated terminal to generous legroom on board, every detail is about ensuring comfort, reliability and efficiency for those who keep MinRes’ operations moving,” Graeme said.

“For our people, this means less time waiting, quicker transfers and, importantly, more time at home with their families.”

The Kalgoorlie service is operated by an A320 aircraft and complements existing Nexus Airlines charter flights that also transports MinRes employees between Perth and Kalgoorlie.

MinRes also provides 40 seats per week to the Goldfields community on the Nexus Airlines charter flights, which operate every Thursday and Friday.

MinRes Air launched in 2024, initially operating between Perth and the West Pilbara to service the company's Onslow Iron project. In the first 12 months of operation, the airline completed more than 1,000 flights.

A fleet of three aircraft is staffed by an experienced team of pilots, cabin crew, engineers and ground staff directly employed by MinRes. In the first year of operation, MinRes Air routinely achieved an on-time performance of 98-100% each month.

While transporting personnel is the service's primary focus, MinRes Air also supports urgent freight delivery, including vital equipment and machine parts, and emergency response situations including weather events.
