Ngarliya is the first majority Indigenous-owned business to supply fire suppression services for MinRes, with services set to commence at Ken’s Bore mine site in the Pilbara.
The organisation operates as a joint venture between Paull & Warner Resources and Jajiwarda Contracting, owned by Ken’s Bore Traditional Owner Kelly Slattery and partner Arran Henry.

Ngarliya Director Kelly Slattery said as a Traditional Owner of the land where MinRes operates, the contract presents a transformational for local communities.
“This partnership with MinRes is a huge opportunity, offering long-term prospects and a platform for Ngarliya to develop and grow,” she said.
“Looking further, the transferable skills and services we provide across other applications – be they commercial or residential – extend beyond life-of-mine.”
Kelly said by supporting diverse roles, providing required services for businesses and pursuing growth opportunities across other areas, Ngarliya will be well positioned to grow sustainably.
“For me, as a Traditional Owner, providing opportunities for members of our community to work on Country is a huge advantage and something of we can all be proud of.”
Ngarliya Director Arran Henry said the organisation has built the capability to deliver training and employment opportunities for local Indigenous people alongside products and services that help clients meet their site safety, emergency and rescue needs.
“This is just the beginning for Ngarliya,” Arran said.
“As we grow, learn and expand, we hope to become a preferred supplier of these services over the next five years and beyond, while continuing to provide opportunities for local Indigenous people in the area,” Arran said.
MinRes Chief Executive Mining Services Mike Grey said the company is thrilled to partner with Ngarliya to support essential services at Ken’s Bore, which forms part of the Onslow Iron project.

Ngarliya will soon commence services at Ken’s Bore with other MinRes sites to follow.
