At MRL, family is everything, so having the opportunity to give back to those families who are doing it tough at the moment is important to us. Keeping families close and alleviating the financial and emotional burden of being far from home is vital for the healing and resilience of seriously ill children and their families.
And that’s why we are proud to extend our long-term partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia (RMHC WA) for another three years, providing a home away from home for sick children and their families whilst they’re receiving medical treatment in Perth, in the form of accommodation, home-cooked meals and support services.
MRL provides two full-time chefs for the ‘Home for Dinner’ program, cooking and preparing over 50,000 meals for families each year in the Ronald McDonald House Nedlands and Perth Children’s Hospital House. We also sponsor a room at the Nedlands House which, in the past year, has been a home away from home for 43 sick children and their families for 316 days and nights of accommodation while their child was receiving critical medical care.
