MinRes commits $50M to support WA

Mineral Resources Limited (MinRes) has committed $50 million to the WA Resources Community Investment Initiative, launched today by the McGowan Government.  The initiative supports investment in critical State infrastructure projects and community and social initiatives around WA.

As a proudly Western Australian resources company, MinRes has always been dedicated to improving the social and economic outcomes of local WA communities through a range of community support programs.

The $50 million contribution will add to MinRes’ 30-year record of community investment, supporting major projects in the WA community that will make our State an even better place to live.

An initial pipeline of projects has already been identified, including the Aboriginal Cultural Centre, the Perth Zoo Master Plan, the Remote Aboriginal Communities Fund, the Perth Concert Hall redevelopment and additional contributions to Telethon.

MinRes will work closely with government to identify any further projects that support communities around MinRes’ operations.

With transformational growth locked in over the next five years, including the development of the Onslow Iron project in the Pilbara, and expansion of lithium operations, MinRes is pleased to partner with the WA Government and other resources companies to support the ongoing transformation of local communities.

Mineral Resources Founder and Managing Director, Chris Ellison, said:

“Western Australians have played a vital role in the success of MinRes and our industry.

“As a proud Western Australian company, MinRes is continuing to grow, creating jobs and building projects in this great state.

“It is only natural that we support an initiative that is building a better future for all Western Australians.”
